Diamond Comics

Diamond Comics is an exhibitor who always needs a lot of help. Some of their graphics are coming from previous shows. The client also hand carries some graphics with them to the show floor. Then we plug the holes with new show specific needs. The toughest part of the Diamond installation is making all graphics look like they match. Some are old and faded, some are on odd substrate and some may be damaged in storage/transit. It involves color samples and often show site calls with last minute fixes.

Mad Magazine

Mad Magazine was always one of my favorites. The magazine was a staple of my childhood.

One year we printed a full sized replica of Alfred E. Newman on a backwall with actual red Converse sneakers (stuffed with newspaper) poking out from the bottom of the wall. It became a very popular photo-op for the Comic Con attendees.

DC Comics

DC Comics was always a stressful booth. The Art Director for DC would have us set up the entire exhibit in our warehouse and then would inspect the graphics inch by inch, standing over us as we built it. There were color matching issues and substrate problems. It was always an exhibitor who, once the show had successfully opened, we would let out a small cheer.
